Why an evaluation after a crash matters
In a collision, muscles tighten and guard unevenly on either side of the spine. That can limit motion and leave joints out of position. These problems need hands-on evaluation, and sometimes gentle, low-force instrument-assisted treatment.
Whiplash, the rapid back-and-forth strain of the neck, is common after auto accidents, though it can also come from sports, falls and other trauma. Injured ligaments can leave you feeling fine at first and then have symptoms appear later, which is why waiting is a gamble.
What to do after an accident

If you have severe pain, numbness, weakness, dizziness or head or chest symptoms, go to an emergency room or call 911 first.
